Phyllanthus niruri is used traditionally for treating kidney stones, gallbladder stones, liver related diseases, inflammation, tumor, diabetes and hypertension it also possesses antinociceptive and anti-oxidant properties. This study was designed to investigate the effect of methanol whole plant extract of Phyllanthus niruri on reproductive parameters of sexually naive adult female mice. Acute toxicity study was first carried out by single administration of 5000 mg/kg to six (6) female mice to determine safe doses.

Untimely delivery is the initiation of birth before the expected date of delivery thus resulting in the birth of an under-developed neonate. This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of methanol extract of whole plant of Phyllanthus niruri on the three (3) a, b and c stages of pregnancy and pregnancy outcome. Matured virgin female rats were mated with male rats and after confirmation of pregnancy, the rats were grouped into six (6) groups each for first a, second b and third trimester c of pregnancy.

A screen-house experiment was conducted at the Department of Soil Science and Land Management, University of Benin, Nigeria to find the effects of sawdust and sawdust ash on the physical, chemical, microbial properties of soil and the growth of tomato. The experiment involved Control (C (top soil)), sawdust-ash + top soil (T1) and sawdust + top soil (T2) which were laid out in a completely randomized design (CRD) and replicated thrice. Data were collected on number of leaves, branches, and plant height.

This research is to assess the concentration of some toxic heavy metals and also some chemical parameters collected from soil samples within selected markets in Benin City thus gaining insight into the causative factors as its a growing concern. A total of six (6) samples, five (5) samples from selected markets in Benin City and one (1) being the control sample were analyzed to determine the heavy metal content such as Pb, Cd, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni. The samples were digested using wet method and heavy metals analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer technique.

In this work, the geoelectric investigation of the close surface lithology in Abotse quarters, Auchi, Edo State was done with the aim of characterizing soil disintegration and using the information obtained to check the menace in the area of investigation. The Dipole – Dipole configuration was utilized for Constant Separation Traversing (CST). Every one of the traverse were completed with electrode separation of 10 m with a spread of 200 m.

The outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2) termed Covid-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO) commenced in China and precisely from Wuhan province. A field trial was conducted in the experimental site of The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria, to find out the effect of poultry manure (PM), NPK 15:15:15 and their combination on the agronomic performance of cucumber (Cucumis sativa L.) and some selected soil properties. The treatment: poultry manure (PM) 0, 4, 8 and 12 t/ha and NPK 15:15:15 which are: 0, 100, 200 and 300 kg/ha.

Land users in most parts of the world are yet to come to terms with the fact that land capability assessment provides a ranking of the ability of an area to support a range of agricultural activities on a sustainable basis. The choice of landuse options have been based on mere discretion or local experience rather than good understanding of the physical characteristics of land, its inherent qualities and farm management practices that will support maximization of  profits in agricultural investments in recent times.

Environmental conditions prevailing in the dry season may induce heat stress, which may be evaluated by haematological values in Japanese quails. The present study investigated the haematological responses to dietary ascorbic acid and betaine fed to female Japanese quails during the dry season. A total of 468 female Japanese quails (Coturnix japonica) at 14 days old weighing 26-28 grams were used for the study.
